    The purpose of the library media center is to provide access to a varied collection, present instruction in information literacy and literature appreciation. 

Vision Statement for the Van Buren Elementary School Library

     The vision of the library is to ensure all students and staff members become effective and ethical users of educational resources for the purpose of seeking information for enjoyment and scholastic advancement.  The vision is accomplished when users of the library media center show competence and continued interest in reading, viewing, and using information to become successful learners while possessing the skills and knowledge necessary to reach their full potential in the 21st century.
